Det är söndags morgon. Jag vaknar upp i min nittio centimeter breda ”säng” som saknar bäddmadrass. Jag hade lovar mig själv att jag skulle ta min första löprunda på ett år idag. Men då mina ben säger imot efter mitt första ben pass på ett halvår och magen säger att kinamat och mexikanskmat inte blandar sig så bra, så bestämmer jag mig för att ligga kvar en stund till.
Vi har en fyra dagars helg, då det imorgon är ”Labor Day” här. Men för att citera min bla. grovt bokstavsjuka rumskamrat Spencer: ”Jag ser snarare fram imot att bara ha tre dagar skola nästa vecka än fyra dagars helg denna” och det ligger något i det. Efter att ha kännt av lärarna i två veckor så har jag en perfekt uppfatning om deras personlighet. Eller det kanske inte var så svårt då min lärare i microekonomi och internationell handel själv sa första lektionen, ”I am a son of bitch”, och tro det eller ej så stämmer det.
Precis som det flesta andra i det överkapitalistiska amerikanska samhället så framstår han som att han är centrum av universum. Jag vet inte om det till mästadels är lärare som är så eller om det är alla andra med. Han lyckades under första veckan prata skit om den andra ekonomi läraren på skolan, alla andra avdelningar som inte har med ekonomi eller handel att göra och sedan lyckas också nämna hur inkompetent skolans President (rektor) är. Grattis, bara femton veckor kvar.
Jag har varit i Kalifornien i närmare tjugo dagarna nu och vi har inte sätt något som man kan kalla vågor. Idag ser prognosen kass ut, men det kanske kan bli något iaf. Då vi inte har börjat få in några grund swell utan bara klena vind swell resulterar det i att vågorna blir små, täta, obestämda och… hmm gropiga enligt uppslags verket tyda.se. Vissa saker skall men tydligen inte översätta. Choppy. Låter inte lika ”fräckt”. Surf termer har en förmåga att inte låta lika ”fräckt” på svenska. Det är nog inte meningen att man skall uttrycka surf på svenska, även om Sverige nog har haft bättre surf än vi det seanste två veckorna. Då gör det inget om det svenska vågorna är lite… gropiga
