After many hours of traveling Erica and I finally got to Costa Rica. Everything we have planed have worked so far, even though we were very close to miss hour flight in New York.
We spent the night in San José after 26 hours of traveling. The next morning we were picked at the hotel and went with shuttle the last couple of hours. The pictures you see is from the ferry to tambor, my new board and the first surf 🙂

Every morning when I wake up, I look out my kitchen window to see how the lake looks like. This time a year the sun rises behind the mountain about 7 AM. Last night it was about minus 10 Celsius and when i looked out the window this morning it looked like the lake was on fire

When Johan and I went to Mr Black island earlier this year, we had decided to record that trip from the begging to the end. As always I thought I had more batteries than I really had. So when we got to the island the batteries died and that´s the end of the movie so far. I am planning to edit the clip a bit more when I am getting some new material, but this is what i got so far

I looked trough some of my old videos from Gran Canaria. I found this clip that Lars recorded from the beach and I recorded from the water. Its not the best two waves, but when I looked at the time saw that I caught them during one minute. Not in the movie though since I am playing in slow motion. For a Swedish surfer catching two waves in one minute is quite rare. So when it happens it deserved
it´s own video 😉

It´s about two months until Erica and I leaving Sweden for three months of warm water surfing. To don´t waste any time there, I am trying to get in the best shape I possible can. Until the ice melts I spend about five days a week at the gym trying to do exercises similar surfing moves, or exercises that I hope will approve my surfing.
In the clip below I am showing some exercises that I have been doing the last couple of months. I have set a couple of goals. I want to lose about three kilograms before the trip. If I do so I am going to weigh under 80 kg which I think will be good for my surfing. I also want to build long muscles that will actually help my surfing instead of just gym muscles. Hopefully there will be some more videos under the new category Training.

Me and my brother Alex went up to the mountain yesterday. I brought the camera and the new 24-105 lens to try it out. It was snowy, windy and cold, so i kept my gloves on most of the time. I did managed to take some photos before we made the fire and the battery went out. We went to this place named Grinnsjön and planed to BBQ some hot dogs there. Since it has unlimited supply of dry wood we thought it would be a easy thing. It wasn´t. I took us about one hour to light it up, and I can a sure you it wasn´t a Costa Rica bonfire we made.

Tomorrow is a big day for my camera set up. I have finally bought a normal zoom lense. It is a Canon EF 24-105/4L IS USM and I am getting it tomorrow 🙂 Keep tuned and in the next post I am going to show the lenses that I am planing to bring on Ericas and my trip to Central America.

This is the first out of two movies I have put together from the trip to Gran Canaria.

Now in the end of the week high tide is late in the afternoon. Since Alde works best on mid going to high tide, we could finally have a sunset surf for the first time here.
The swell was supposed to be smaller yesterday, but when we got there we could hear the stones rolling down the beach and the waves breaking on the pier louder than the other days. We were lucky. It ended up being the biggest and “cleanest” day on the trip with a perfect sunset with Tenerife in the background. Lasse toke a lot of photos and recorded some from the beach before going out himself, and I recorded almost every wave from the gopro.
I am putting up some photos now, but the gopro going to take a bit longer this time now when I have more material than before. Tomorrow we are flying back to Sweden to reality. Hopefully it’s going to be some more storms before winter hits full on.
