Surfing with Nat Young, Rat Boy and other pros’

Hej!

Nu är jag tillbaka i SB efter en vecka i Santa Cruz trakterna. Som ni har sätt tidigare så har det ju blivit en heldel surf med varierande kvalité. Men i torsdags så drog vi och hämtade upp en utav Ryans polare och han drog med oss till ett annat bryt i Santa Cruz som vi inte hade kollat in tidigare. När vi kom fram till stranden så såg det rätt så bra ut men många “bra” surfare ute i vattnet. Vi stod och funderade en stund och bestämde oss efter att en gubbe som hyrde ut brädar sa att vi skulle surfa där. Han sa även : “men tänk på att paddla hårt och inte droppa in på några, för grabbarna där ute är proffs”. Jag tänkte inte så mycket mera på det. Jag tänkte… gubben snackar väll skit som 99% av surfvärlden brukar göra. Väl ute i vattnet så kände man en lite konstig kännsla. Vi har surfat rätt så mycket på senaste och man är ju inte helt borta när man kommer till ett nytt ställe. Men denna gången kändes vi helt malplaserade. Jag fick för mig att det kanske bara var ett väldigt “lokat bryt”. Efter ett tag så lägger jag märke till att det står väldigt många fotografer på stranden och att “gubbarna” i vattnet gör helt sjukt bra ifrån sig och har alla olika märken på våtdräkt och stickers.

Vi var väll ute och surfade i kanske 90 min och påväg in så berättar Ryans polare att det var Nat Young och Rat boy som var ute och surfade. Efteråt får vi reda på att det även var Ozzie Smith och Austin Smith-Ford. Den 5 gubben vet jag inte vem det var men Martin som stod och tog kort sa att det var 5 olika surfmärken där, och alla hade sin egen fotograf. Vi fattade inte riktigt vad som hade hänt förän vi kom hem på kvällen och kollade fotona. Vi borde alla ha varit nöjda med det fotona vi fick men om man kollar på bilderna på “proffsen” så kände man sig ganska dålig igen.

Annars så sitter jag och arbetar lite på den nya “filmen” som jag kommer posta om någon dag eller två. Får se om det blir någon surf imorgon för idag var det blankt. Kollade in C-street och Rincon men inga höjdar vågor.
